Our story
Built because making friends as an adult is hard
A little backstory on what Board Friends Events is, why it exists, and who's behind it.
The founder
Why I started this
"I moved to Dallas a few years ago and quickly realized that meeting quality people — real, lasting friendships — doesn't just happen when you're an adult. You have to create the conditions for it."
Board Friends Events started as a small experiment: what if we designed a gathering specifically to make connection feel easy? Small groups, beautiful food, a shared activity, and an intentional host to hold space for it all.
The first event had 12 guests. By the end of the night, group chats were already forming. That was the proof of concept.
Today, Board Friends Events is DFW's go-to space for people who want more than small talk — they want real connection, curated in a setting that makes it feel effortless.
Our mission
To make it genuinely easy to build real friendships across DFW
We believe the right setting, the right food, and a thoughtful host can take the awkwardness out of meeting new people. Every event we design starts from that premise.
What we stand for
Our values
Radical inclusivity
Every person who walks through the door is welcomed. We design for people who might feel like outsiders — because that's where the best connections happen.
Intentional design
Nothing at a Board Friends event is accidental — from the venue to the food to the activities. Every detail is chosen to lower barriers and raise connection.
Genuine warmth
We're not a networking event. We're not a speed-friending gimmick. We're a real gathering, hosted by a real person who cares that you leave with more than you came with.
